To support our growing project portfolio, we are seeking a skilled Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) to join our collaborative team.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in building services for residential construction. The successful candidate will design and oversee the delivery of mechanical systems, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and energy efficiency, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and optimised building performance.

Key Responsibilities

● Design mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing for custom residential buildings, ensuring energy efficiency and sustainability

● Develop technical specifications and materials schedules for mechanical services

● Coordinate with architects, designers, and subcontractors to ensure effective integration of mechanical systems in building designs

● Conduct site inspections and oversee installation processes to ensure systems meet design specifications and safety standards

● Analyse project workflows and identify areas to improve efficiency and reduce design duplication

● Establish and maintain standards for installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance in accordance with engineering principles and safety regulations

● Manage timelines and budgets related to mechanical systems, ensuring milestones are met

Skills & Experience

● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering

● Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in mechanical systems design, preferably within residential or building services environments

● Sound knowledge of the NCC (National Construction Code), Section J, and relevant Australian Standards

● Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical simulation tools (e.g., CAMEL or HAP)

● Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills

● Ability to work independently and manage multiple residential projects concurrently
