Meat Flour Wine is searching for a second Head Chef to work at either of our locations (Braeside/Berwick)

If you haven't heard of Meat Flour Wine we were the leading restaurant within the South East Suburbs before our devastating fire.
Never the less, we are proud to say we're coming back !
Never travel in hour long traffic jams to the city again and work in a community based suburb that is close to the beach and great for starting a family. Never get a parking fine again as we have nearby parking.
A renowned favourite in the area for Modern Italian cuisine and coal grilled steaks. We are coming back from a devastating fire in 2024 bigger and better than ever with a new twist in modern Italian and want to take the culinary experience to new heights!
Enjoy working in a brand new, state of the art kitchen with all the equipment you could ever dream of.
Patrons will not only get to see you in action on the coal grill but you can also show off your butchery skills as you carve up massive tomahawk steaks.
We are searching for a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our loyal and well connected team. In this full-time hands on role, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, developing innovative and exciting menus, leading a team of skilled chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our loyal customers.
Coal grill and butchery is essential in this role including a broad knowledge in modern Italian cuisine. Strong food costing ability with both food and wage costs is also key to securing your success in this head chef position.
What you'll be doing
Designing and implementing creative, seasonal menus that showcase the finest local & imported produce
Overseeing the preparation and presentation of all dishes to the highest standards
Managing, mentoring and leading a team of talented chefs, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to excel
Maintaining strict quality control and food safety standards throughout the kitchen
Collaborating with the management team to optimise operational efficiency and profitability
Staying up-to-date with industry trends and incorporating new techniques and flavours into the menu
What we're looking for
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-calibre restaurant or hotel setting
Exceptional culinary skills, with a deep understanding of Italian flavour profiles, presentation, and food science
Strong sense of urgency in kitchen operations
Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of developing and inspiring culinary teams
Excellent time management and organisational skills to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Up-to-date knowledge of food safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining the highest hygiene standards
