Early Childhood Teacher - Richmond Kindergarten

Permanent Part time, 22.8 hours per week - commencing asap

Teaching hours - Wednesday & Thursday 8:30am-4:00pm

Non-contact/administration day every Friday

Salary - VECTEA/EEEEA equivalent pro rata + Super (Salary level dependent on qualification, teacher level and years of service)

Richmond Kindergarten is a dual-classroom sessional Kindergarten situated in the leafy suburban streets of Richmond. It forms part of our Richmond Early Learning Precinct and works in partnership with Yarraberg Children's Centre. Richmond Kindergarten is rated Exceeding Quality Standards in 6 out of 7 areas of the National Quality Standards. Our program has strong themes of inclusion, respect for First Nations peoples, sustainability and connection to land. This is demonstrated through the day-to-day pedagogy and Bush Kinder program.

Required qualifications and attributes:

  • Bachelor of Education (Early Years), (or equivalent)
  • Up to date First Aid, CPR, EpiPen and asthma management qualifications
  • Valid Early Childhood Teacher VIT Registration and ability to renew
  • Team focussed approach
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate responsive routines and programs guided by the approved learning frameworks
  • Current mandatory reporting training
  • You must have the right to live and work in this location to apply for this job

Desired attributes and experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in an education and care program.
  • An understanding of the importance of Indigenous perspectives education
  • Bush Kinder (or other nature pedagogy) experience
  • Experience with Xplor or other online learning platform
  • Ability to demonstrate a competent level of English, both written and spoken
