The Team:

The Community Physiotherapy team within Primary Health North.

Our team works across all the Primary Health sites in Northern Tasmania.

Community Physiotherapy aims to optimise physical function and enhance independence and quality of life for eligible people within the community.

The physiotherapist will assess a person’s condition and develop an appropriate treatment plan together with their client. This may include:

  • provision of education/advice on your condition and recommended management strategies
  • prescription of home exercise program
  • individual recommendations and setup of aids for walking
  • referral to other health care professionals or community exercise groups.

Our service places a strong focus on health promotion and active self-management.

Working in collaboration with other health professionals, Physiotherapists are also actively involved in chronic disease prevention, physical activity and health promotion activities in various healthcare and community settings.

The Role:

  • As part of the Community Physiotherapy team, and in accordance with organisational policies and
    professional code of ethics, be responsible for the efficient and effective provision of physiotherapy services
    to clients living in the community in the region.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in providing appropriate services to clients and patients at primary
    health sites, including referral to other services as required.
  • Participate in ongoing development and coordination of the services provided by Community
    Physiotherapists in the Northern area, including supervision and support of staff and students where required.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of policies and procedures, performance measures and
    reporting mechanisms for physiotherapy services provided by the Community Physiotherapy Service.
  • Contribute to health promotion within the region.
  • Maintain contemporary professional knowledge through applying evidence based practice and appropriate continuing professional development activities. Contribute to the provision of education programs.

You will need

  • Currently AHPRA registered (Physiotherapist) with minimum 5 years' experience.
  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Be willing to work in a variety of Primary Health North sites on a rotational basis.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 32 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you are able to join our team.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $10,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances:

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Relevant postgraduate experience
