About the role

As a Disability Support Worker with Auslan skills at IDEA Innovative Disability Engagement Australia Pty Ltd, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and personalised care to individuals with disabilities. This is a casual position based in Fairfield, NSW 2165, offering the flexibility to work around your schedule.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication management

Facilitating engaging social and recreational activities to promote client wellbeing and independence

Communicating effectively with clients using Auslan (Australian Sign Language) to ensure their needs are met

Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records

Advocating for client rights and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment

What we're looking for

Demonstrated experience as a Disability Support Worker or relevant experience in the community services sector

Proficiency in Auslan (Australian Sign Language) to effectively communicate with deaf and hard-of-hearing clients Or basic skill with Auslan and Eager to learn more.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients

A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to promoting their independence and wellbeing

Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent

A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (desirable)
