Our Client
Our client is a listed Australian company with a long-standing history and a strong reputation in the agricultural sector. The legal function is recognised internally as a trusted advisor and key partner in the company’s strategic direction.
The Role
Working as part of a lean and high-performing legal team, you’ll provide legal and governance support across the business. Reporting to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, you will:
- Advise on a range of legal issues including contracts, compliance, property, employment, and regulatory matters;
- Draft, negotiate, and review commercial agreements and documentation;
- Support the implementation of corporate governance and compliance frameworks;
- Contribute to enterprise risk management initiatives and policy development;
- Assist with company secretariat responsibilities and liaise with regulators and external legal advisors; and
- Provide legal input on strategic projects, innovation partnerships, and business development activities.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will have:
- At least 4 years’ post-admission experience, ideally with a background in commercial, corporate, or property law;
- A Bachelor of Laws and current Australian legal practising certificate;
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills;
- Confidence working across a wide range of legal matters with sound judgement;
- The ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and influence commercial outcomes; and
- A pragmatic and curious mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
