The role
The Water Quality Technician will operate and maintain the assets relating to water quality and will be responsible for completing routine sampling, disinfection and reticulation water quality operations and maintenance across towns within Gippsland Water’s supply network, with the objective of providing safe drinking water for customers within regulatory and industry guidelines and standards.
What you’ll bring
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in drinking water reticulation operations and booster chlorination systems.
Certificate II or III in Water Industry Operations is highly desirable.
Working knowledge of Safe Drinking Water Act 2003 and Australian Drinking Water Guidelines 2011 applicable to the water industry.
Ability to carry out and interpret the result of water quality sampling.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using written, verbal, numerical and graphical communication techniques.
Demonstrated experience in the operation of water quality instrumentation, and the ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
The ideal candidate will be part of a driven and supportive team who share a passion for quality, performance and overall customer satisfaction. A qualification in Water Industry Operations is highly desirable, but not mandatory. We’ll provide the right candidate with the training they need.
