Duty Manager – 4-Day Workweek | The Queens Hotel Gladstone

The Queens Hotel Gladstone is looking for a motivated Duty Manager to join our leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to work 4 days per week with 3 days off, offering a great work-life balance while being part of a dynamic, vibrant venue.
About the Role:
As Duty Manager, you’ll be at the heart of daily operations—leading the team, ensuring exceptional service, and maintaining a high-performing, welcoming environment across all departments, including accommodation, gaming, food & beverage, and guest services.
Your leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to hospitality excellence will be key in delivering an outstanding guest experience and supporting the continued success of our venue.
Key Responsibilities:
Venue Operations:
Oversee daily operations across all departments.
Maintain high service standards in accommodation, food & beverage, gaming, and guest interactions.
Manage guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism.
Ensure cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all public areas.
Staff Leadership:
Supervise and support staff during shifts.
Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
Foster a positive, professional team culture.
Customer Experience:
Deliver excellent customer service across all touchpoints.
Build rapport with guests and VIPs.
Resolve issues efficiently to ensure guest satisfaction.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure full compliance with licensing, gaming, and health & safety regulations.
Perform regular checks and respond to any risk or emergency situations.
Enforce safe and responsible service of alcohol and gaming.
Financial & Operational Oversight:
Manage cash handling and daily reconciliations.
Support stock control and inventory accuracy.
Report discrepancies and contribute to efficient operations.
Events & Functions:
Assist in planning and delivering in-house events and private functions.
Coordinate with the kitchen and bar for seamless execution.
Reporting & Admin:
Complete shift reports and operational logs.
Maintain accurate records and report on key performance metrics.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a hospitality leadership or supervisory role.
Strong interpersonal and team management skills.
Sound knowledge of food & beverage, gaming, and accommodation operations.
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
Proficiency in POS systems and basic administrative software.
Must hold current RMLV, RSA, and RSG certifications.
