About the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI)

- Research that improves health and aged care systems, processes and practices.
- Research that addresses societal issues associated with ageing.
About the role
NARI is offering an exciting opportunity for two part-time /full-time Research Fellows to join our dynamic research team. The Research Fellows will carry out duties which include:
- Contribute to and lead research and consultancy projects aligned with NARI’s strategic priorities.
- Develop an independent research stream under one of the five program areas.
- Lead and manage research projects
- Produce high-quality research outputs, including peer-reviewed publications, reports, and presentations.
- Translate research findings into practice and policy
- Present research at national and international conferences, forums, and stakeholder events.
- Engage with NARI’s Community Advisory Panel and support consumer and community involvement in research.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community members, aged care providers, policymakers, and academic partners.
- Represent NARI in collaborative networks and contribute to cross-organisational initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and strategic direction of the Division and the Institute.
The Research Fellows will be based within either the Social Gerontology or Clinical Gerontology Division of the Institute depending on their expertise and alignment with NARI’s research priorities.

To be successful for this role
The ideal candidate will possess a research higher degree in a relevant health, science or social sciences discipline.
We would look favourably upon candidates who have:
- Professional or research experience directly working with older people.
- Experience with research methods relevant to ageing research.
- A record of research achievements in ageing research.
- Demonstrated research success relative to opportunity.
Eligibility
Applicants must be an Australian citizen or have a legal entitlement to work in Australia.
As part of the onboarding process NARI will arrange for new employees to complete a national police check.
