About the role

Maxima’s valued client in the Northern Suburbs is seeking an experienced Library Technician to join their team on a temporary basis. This role engages with the back-end operations of the library service, including cataloguing and collections. The hours and days of work are flexible.
The length of the role is expected to be 8 weeks initially, with the potential for extension.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:

• Working rostered shifts on the circulation desk
• Assisting with collection maintenance and development.
• Cataloguing new and existing library stock according to library policies.
• Assisting with promotion of library services, programs and activities.

About You

• Previous experience as a Library Technician, or similar role within library services
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Confident using Onecard and Symphony LMS
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• Passion for learning and library and community services
• Diploma of Library and Information Services is desirable, but not essential
• National Police Check and Working with Children Check, or willing to obtain
• ALIA Accreditation is a plus
