MACSEYE is seeking a General Manager of Governance and Risk to lead our strategic governance and risk frameworks. This senior role is key to ensuring compliance, upholding strong corporate governance, and supporting our mission in early childhood education and care.

You’ll foster a culture where governance and risk guide every decision, building trusted partnerships with regulators and stakeholders to align with best practices.

Job Description

In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the full spectrum of governance, risk, compliance, and legal functions, ensuring MACSEYE operates with integrity, transparency, and resilience. Your responsibilities will span the following areas:

Governance, Policy & Board Support: lead the development and review of governance policies, maintain compliance registers, support the Company Secretary function, and provide strategic governance advice and reporting to the Managing Director and Board

Enterprise Risk Management & Culture: design and implement a robust risk management framework, maintain an enterprise risk register, and lead initiatives that embed a proactive risk culture across the organisation

Crisis Management & Business Continuity: oversee critical incident response, emergency preparedness, and business continuity planning to ensure organisational resilience and the safety of children, staff, and visitors

Privacy, Whistleblower & Records Management: ensure compliance with privacy legislation, manage the whistleblower program, and lead organisation-wide records management practices to support accountability and information integrity

Legal Oversight & Internal Audit: manage external legal services to support risk-informed decision-making and lead the internal audit program to strengthen internal controls and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

Relevant degree with postgraduate or governance qualifications highly regarded

5+ years’ experience in governance, risk, and/or compliance, ideally in multi-site operations

Proven leadership and stakeholder influence with strong communication and presentation skills

Expertise in business continuity, critical incident response, and governance systems/tools

High emotional intelligence, attention to detail, and a hands-on, solutions-focused approach
