Robert Half Technology are excited to be working with an international product development business seeking an Automation Engineer to help with project workload.

The Role

This is an initial 4-month contract with high chance of extension. The company offers mainly remote work but may require attendance in their office on an ad hoc basis.

Reporting into the Software Manager, this role requires a proactive and detail-oriented Automation Engineer with 2-4 years of commercial experience. In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing test automation tools and supporting the testing and deployment of critical systems. You'll work closely with engineers, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure system reliability, performance, and quality across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test automation tools
• Scripts to parse and validate system outputs
• Automation for retrieving data and artifacts from peripheral components
• Integration of automated tests into the Git-based build pipeline
• Contribute to all phases of testing activities, including writing test plans, test cases, and reports
• Participate in Sprint planning and agile team ceremonies
• Support testing and troubleshooting of deployed systems
• Assist in deployment activities: planning, execution, and quality assurance

Your Profile

• Proven experience in automation testing
• The ability to write clear test cases and define/validate acceptance criteria
• Hands-on experience with Linux environments
• Scripting skills for test automation, ideally with:
• Python (preferred)
• Go (Golang)
• Ansible
