The Treasury Toll Reform team is offering unique opportunities for candidates to be part of a once-in-a-generation reform that will transform how tolling works across the Sydney motorway network. In partnership with Transport for NSW, the departments are jointly responsible for leading the NSW Government’s implementation of toll reform after the completion of the Independent Toll Review. Treasury specifically leads the direct dealing process – negotiating with the toll road concessionaires to deliver a uniform network toll pricing regime. This reform aims to simplify tolling, improve fairness and deliver better cost outcomes for motorists.
Toll Reform is a high-impact, high-visibility project that will deliver tangible benefits to the people of NSW. You will:
· Collaborate across government – work with Transport for NSW, external advisers and Ministerial Offices
· Shape commercial outcomes – provide strategic, commercial, financial, and policy advice on complex negotiations
· Build your influence – engage with senior stakeholders and contribute to the decision making for the future of tolling

Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount for candidates. Your effective communication, collaboration and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts are essential to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government.

As an Associate Director you will play a leadership role in delivering high quality outcomes that underpin strategic project delivery and policy development, commercial and financial analysis, implementation, and evaluation.
As a Senior Associate you will play a support role to delivering high quality outcomes that underpin strategic project delivery and policy development, commercial and financial analysis, implementation, and evaluation.
As an Associate of the Toll Reform Team, you will play a support role to delivering high quality outcomes that underpin strategic project delivery and policy development, commercial and financial analysis, implementation, and evaluation.
What you can bring to the role
The ideal candidate should have the following knowledge and experience:
· Experience in the public sector in a commercial, policy, strategy or financial role or private sector experience in commercial, strategy, legal or financial roles.
· Experience in the commercial aspects of infrastructure and major projects would be beneficial.
· Experience structuring, negotiating and executing infrastructure transactions and in transaction management including financial and legal due diligence.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate commercial and policy analysis clearly and effectively (verbally and in writing).
· Sound understanding of public sector financial management practices, policies and governing legislation.
