We are currently working with a large Govt Department based on the Sunshine Coast to source an experienced Graphic Designer/Communications specialist to join their Governance & Design team. This is a three-year contract and will be based at Buderim, with some flexibility to work from home. In the role of Graphic Designer, you will contribute to the creation of various materials across print, online and digital platforms to support delivery of the Region’s stakeholder and community communications and engagement program.

THE ROLE:

Support the delivery of effective design services and solutions that meet stakeholder communication and engagement objectives and represent value for money across multiple graphic design, digital, video and animation platforms.

Design, layout and produce a range of communications material aligned to the clients brand, including project maps and layouts, flyers, fact sheets, newsletters, infographics, plans, reports, presentations, etc, to effectively engage and inform stakeholders.

Work closely with the two senior Graphic Designers on projects and demands to ensure collaboration and sharing of project deliverables adapting to changing priorities

Use a range of contemporary graphic design, video, animation and webcast packages to develop best-practice integrated marketing and communication products that comply with the clients identity and style.

Support management of a significant shared workload with conflicting demands

Arrange and coordinate the procurement of marketing and communications products and services from external contractors and suppliers.

Research, purchase and commission imagery to use in communication material.

YOU:

Minimum 3-5 years’ industry experience in graphic design with excellent knowledge of design software packages and best-practice design principles.

Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design or similar; or equivalent industry exp

Experience developing a range of materials and formats for a large corporate or government organisation.

Ability to develop innovative and modern design solutions to address complex communication objectives.

Knowledge of state government process and policies. (desirable)

Basic knowledge of designing to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) including creating accessible PDFs and Microsoft Word documents (desirable)

The current pay scale for an AO4 is $58.02 - $63.69 per hour plus super, your rate will be considered on level of experience and suitability, on an individual basis by the Hiring Manager and through the hiring process.
