The Environmental Health Directorate has a crucial role in managing environmental health matters at a statewide level. We deliver a diverse range of activities, including the administration of 5 Acts and 26 subsidiary regulations. As a trusted regulator, community educator and capacity builder, we work together with state and local governments and industry to protect the health and safety of the WA community. Providing excellent customer service to our community is an essential and valued part of what we do in EHD and at the Department.

What are we looking for?
The successful applicants will be expected to manage our central phoneline that receives incoming calls across the Environmental Health Directorate on a wide range of topic areas and issues. Confidently work with callers to understand their issues and assist them in being connected to the right area. Assist in a range of administrative duties across the teams, including entering received information and keeping up to date databases on applications received.
Ideal candidates will be:
- Good communicators
- skilled in administration
- organised; and
- a team player.
Position Profile: The Customer Service Officer assists the Environmental Health Directorate (the Directorate) with receptionist and administration tasks. This role maintains the Directorate’s information resources through filing, photocopying, data-entry, business triage software maintenance, and responding to information requests from staff and clients.
This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent and Fixed Term Full Time or Part Time appointments with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/08/2026.
Please note from the 13/06/2025 the salary will increase to PSO Level 2 $76,912 - $82,464 per annum pro rata.
