About the Role

Based within the Sustainable Agricultural team of our Certifications business, which incorporates Agriculture and Animal Welfare, the post holder will work closely with producers, processors, and traders to achieve their objectives related to best practice, sustainability, and environmental and social footprint.

They will primarily be responsible for conducting audits against a range of accredited and non-accredited standards on ANZ producers and processors, engaging with other specialists as required.

The offices are based in Docklands, VIC; and Sinnamon Park, QLD, however, the Auditor will travel domestically, visiting client sites as required. Travel overseas may also be required. As such, the Company are flexible on the successful candidate's location.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out research and preparation to plan assigned work scopes which may span producers, processors, and traders to conceptualise ideas for safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly food and meat production.

Inspect and perform tests and audits on farms to ensure they comply with local, state, and federal agricultural safety standards and regulations as well as other sustainability / certification standards.

Conduct audits against a range of accredited (ISCC, RWS, RegenAgri, USDA NOP, CUMCS, GMP / G,GAP) and client bespoke standards.

Perform environmental impact evaluations.

Clarify agricultural operations requirements, (use of machinery and equipment) from production to delivery, including the implementation of agricultural-related infrastructures following regenerative agriculture practices, and strategies for effective soil conservation.

Communicate with employees, colleagues, clients and supply chain specialists, on specific work scopes, receiving and providing technical support as required.

Ensure all client enquires are handled in a timely manner and provide excellent customer service, acting as their key account manager.

Prepare audit reports within target timeframe and provide regular updates as required.

Conduct marketing and business development activities as required.

Work closely with colleagues to ensure a quality and efficient service, playing an active part in team meetings.

Stay up to date with developments concerning technological advancements and legislative changes pertaining to agriculture and related sectors.

Extensive travel across Australia and New Zealand (>50% of the time).

About You - Experience, Skills and Requirement and ANZ Work Rights

The successful candidate will be professionally curious, take pride in their work, have strong attention to detail and be positive. We rely on our staff to be reliable, hardworking, and able to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Passion for (regenerative) agriculture, animal husbandr[SS1] y, carbon accounting, and sustainability is a must!

Graduate/ post-graduate degree in related field e.g. Agricultural Engineering.

Experience in the same or a similar position required within agriculture or related industry.

Knowledge of the main farming practices used in Australia / New Zealand.

Knowledge of sustainable agroecosystems.

Experience in developing and implementing regenerative cropping and grazing management protocols.

Experience with carbon capture calculations / carbon accounting.

Knowledge of sustainability and certification programs related to sustainable agriculture and animal welfare highly advantageous.

Completed the ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Course highly advantageous.

Experience in auditing preferred.

A minimum of 1 year experience in animal handling / 40 hours sheep shearing preferred.

Demonstrable experience with quality systems and accreditations.

Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Adaptability in dynamic environments.

Conflict resolution skills (ideally in an audit scenario).

Customer service and project management skills.

A problem-solving approach and ability to think in holistic manner.

Strong communication and relationship management skills.

Willingness to learn, well organised and able to work independently with strong time management skills.

Able to demonstrate a high level of competence in Microsoft Packages, excellent MS Word, and Excel skills.

Willingness to travel domestically and overseas (New Zealand).

Holds a valid driving license.
