Accountant, Financial, Ongoing opportunity based in Sydney CBD + hybrid options available

Salary Range: Clerk grade 7/8, $110,266 to $122,058 + super
Location: McKell, Haymarket with hybrid working arrangements but a minimum of 2-3 days in the office
Employment Type: Ongoing opportunity.

An ongoing opportunity has become available for a proactive Financial Accountant to join the NSW Telco Authority (NSWTA) Finance team at the Department of Customer Service. You will provide financial accounting services, reports, advice, and support to management to ensure financial performance is consistent with best practice.

Key accountabilities

  • Ensure the accurate, consistent, and timely management of NSWTA lease portfolio in compliance with AASB16.
  • Perform complicated reconciliation and variance analysis on monthly basis or as required.
  • Carry out various month end General Ledger and reporting tasks.
  • Contribute to leases related costs budget and forecast.
  • Participated in delivery the financial reporting and statutory reporting requirement for NSWTA.
  • Other ad-hock tasks within financial reporting and assets management reporting area.

Key requirements

  • Proactive individual with great attention to details.
  • Solid reconciliation skills and demonstrated persistence in complex problem solving.
  • Strong interest in Financial Accounting and keen to learn.
  • Natural multitasker to manage competing priorities within short deadlines.
  • Knowledge of AASB16 leases will be highly regarded.
  • Tertiary accounting qualifications.
