The company is providing business finance management, financial reporting, virtual CFO, accounting, payroll, and bookkeeping services. LCL Accounting is specialised in working with not-for-profit organisations (NFP), Government funded Cooperative Research Centres (CRC), and startup technology companies.

Role Overview

We are experiencing rapid growth and require a Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal to the core management of the financial data and processes, ensuring the financial integrity of our clients. Reporting to the Managing Director at LCL Accounting, the Financial Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions for our clients. You will be working closely with other members of the Accounts Team and be able to liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties (customers, suppliers, service providers, auditors, etc.)

Core Responsibilities

Financial Control and Management:

Ensure timely and accurate month-end transactions and journal entries;

Monthly end reconciliation and processing (including leave accruals, depreciation, accrual / deferred income and expenses);

Preparation of monthly financial reports (including P&L, balance sheet, aged receivables, leave balance, etc.);

BAS / IAS, FBT, single torch payroll lodgement;

Preparation of annual budget and cashflow forecasting;

Liaises with external auditors for annual auditing;

Other not-for-profit reporting, ACNC annual information statement lodgement;

Providing financial insights and guidance to internal stakeholders and supporting decision-making processes.

Payroll & Superannuation:

process fortnightly payroll;

maintain staff leave records and reconcile monthly leave balances;

maintain staff salary packaging records and produce appropriate reporting;

maintain staff FBT records;

Processing superannuation payments.

Accounts Payables & Receivables:

preparation of purchase orders, weekly payment run, BPAY, and EFTs;

reconciliation of supplier accounts;

reconciliation of company credit cards.

preparation of quotes;

entry of invoices;

allocation of payments received;

recharges to other organisations where required;

credit control and collection of outstanding debts.

Other Responsibilities:

maintain fixed asset register and balance to GL;

Oversee and manager accounting system Xero and payroll system Employment Hero;

Other accounting administration functions as and when required.

Person Specification

Qualifications / Industry Experience / Specific Knowledge or Skills

Essential:

Degree qualified in finance / accounting, with CA / CPA qualification;

Minimium 5 years solid experience in financial accounting;

experience in the use of accounting system, preferably Xero;

advanced Microsoft 365 skills, especially Microsoft Excel.

Desirable:

Not-for-profit experience;

Employment Hero experience;

Salesforce experience;

Project accounting experience.
