Waste Operations Team is seeking applications from positive minded and committed people to apply for the role of Waste Services Labourer. Your start and finish time for this position will be 3.30 am to 12.27 pm.

The Waste Services Labourer (Runner) is a member of the Waste Operations team and is responsible for the completion of all general labouring duties associated with the collection and disposal of garbage from parks and street bins, commercial premises and some residential premises, utilising rear loading collection vehicles, from various locations around the City of Lake Macquarie.

The position is responsible for ensuring that they carry out duties in accordance with WH&S requirements and adopted procedures in manual handling.

The position is also responsible for determining whether waste placed for collection is compliant with Council’s requirements and notify owners of non-compliant materials presented for collection

Hold a current Class C drivers licence along with Construction Induction Card (White Card)

You enjoy each day being a challenge and being in a job which is physically demanding

Your knowledge of waste management services is evident from your previous experience within the job or one similar

Previous experience loading mobile garbage bins onto and off rear loading waste collection vehicles will be obvious

Being passionate about working together to meet a common goal your teamwork skills are second to none.

Competitive salary from $28.43 to $33.04 per hour

Commencing salary set in line with skills and experience with annual reviews available to support movement through the salary range
