About Us
Taroom Pharmacy is a long-established, community-focused pharmacy in the heart of Queensland’s bushland. Recently relocated to a custom-designed, modern premises, our store is built to improve accessibility and healthcare delivery—because people in the bush deserve the very best.

We are proud early adopters of the expanding scope of practice, including contraceptive prescribing, UTI and other clinical service trials. We deliver comprehensive healthcare services ranging from vaccinations and sleep apnoea to DAA packing and nursing home support. With visiting allied health professionals including physios, speech pathologists, and dieticians working from our location, we’re a true rural health hub.

The Role
We are seeking a Pharmacist in Charge who will:

Work solo most days and collaborate 1–2 days/week with the owner

Oversee dispensing, front-of-shop, and clinical services

Deliver vaccinations (accreditation required)

Engage with our allied health partners

Be part of shaping and implementing full scope of practice services

Incentive Payment for Full Scope Training – up to $10,000

As part of our commitment to supporting pharmacists in expanding their clinical skills and scope of practice, we offer an incentive payment of up to $10,000 to cover the cost of tuition and associated expenses for full scope of practice training.

This payment is made available to pharmacists undertaking an approved full scope training program and is designed to support your professional development while strengthening rural healthcare services.

Conditions of the Incentive:

The $10,000 payment will be provided to cover course tuition due to the QLD government subsidy ending in July 2025.

The pharmacist agrees to remain employed at Taroom Pharmacy for a minimum of 2 years following the completion of the full scope training course.

If the pharmacist chooses to leave the position within 2 years of completing the training, the incentive amount is to be repaid in full on a pro-rata basis.
