About the Role
This position will be based in our Newcastle West Head Office, close to public transport, cafes and local shopping precincts.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Ensure integrity and consistency of financial data across systems and platforms (e.g. ERP, BI tools, data warehouse), including identifying and resolving discrepancies or anomalies in data, and implement corrective actions and preventative controls.
- Manage the implementation of any new ERP or financial system/software.
- Provide technical leadership in the development and testing of financial system upgrades, new financial tools and reporting capabilities.
- Management and implementation of financial system changes related to new programs, projects, and business requirements.
- Maintaining financial data records in ERP database, providing data extraction/analysis and for providing support and mentoring to users.
- Drive continuous improvement of Financial Systems and data processes, including, but not limited to, integrity, automations, reconciliation and control enhancements.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to support tender submissions, scenario analysis, investment evaluations and compliance reporting.
- Maintain and document financial modelling assumptions, methodologies and validation procedures.
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather tender requirements and translate them into financial structures and costing models.
- Assist in the preparation of business cases and financial components of funding proposals including NPV, IRR and cash flow projections.
- Provide insights and data driven analysis to support capital investment decisions.
About You
Ideally, you will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related field (additional certifications in IT for systems accounting or financial modelling are desirable)
- CPA/CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years) in a systems accounting, financial modelling or commercial finance role.
- Demonstrated breadth and depth of experience in working with ERP systems and how they interface with reporting and analysis tools.
- Proven capability and experience working with MSSQL, COGNOS/TM1, Power BI and Data Warehousing in project and BAU environments, with a particular strength in report writing, and the ability to train/mentor others.
- High proficiency in use of MS Office suite, especially advanced Excel sills, and experience in Greentree ERP and/or Jade Database (desirable).
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex financial models for tenders, project evaluation and scenario analysis, with a strong focus on data integrity and accuracy.
- Skills in extracting, manipulating and reconciling large data sets to support business and compliance reporting or decision-making.
- Experience implementing or contributing to system upgrades, data migrations or digital finance transformation projects (desirable).
