What You’ll be doing:

This role will lead the preparation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of technical designs, tenders, and specification documentation for firefighting appliances, equipment, PPE/PPC, foams, and suppression chemicals. This role ensures all solutions enhance operational safety, effectiveness, and resilience, while delivering innovation and value for money in support of frontline firefighting capabilities for the RFS.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A Diploma or Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Project Management), or equivalent expertise.
  • Experience in engineering design and principles which includes the generation and interpretation of drawings, specifications and standards whilst balancing the business objectives of probity, risk management and value for money to ensure the NSW RFS achieves best advantage in the supply of products and services.
  • Knowledge in technical management, research and problem solving with the ability to develop and implement complex research and development projects.
  • Genuine appreciation and understanding of a volunteer-based community service.

The commencing salary will be considered in alignment with skills and experience.
