About the role
The Office of Teaching and Research Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the dynamic, multi-disciplinary Chemical and Biological Sciences Technical Support Team based on the Parramatta South Campus.
As a Senior Technical Support Officer (Chemistry) your primary focus will be ensuring that all teaching, research facilities and equipment are supported with the highest quality technical service in the various discipline areas supported by the Chemical and Biological Sciences Team. You will also provide assistance with research support to both staff and postgraduate students and community engagement activities as required.
About You
To be successful in this position you will have an undergraduate degree in Science with a major in chemistry and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
This senior role is primarily focussed on supporting teaching and research in the discipline group of applied chemistry. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in laboratories that support teaching and research in analytical and applied chemistry.
You will also be client focused, have the ability to think innovatively, be a good problem solver with the ability to identify and implement self-directed solutions. You will also have demonstrated experience in the use and maintenance of complex equipment and instrumentation used in chemistry.
Applicants should be aware that this role will be based at Western Sydney University Parramatta South campus at Rydalmere. However as Western Sydney University is a multi-campus university travel to other campuses may be required when operational needs arise. Remuneration Package: HEW Level 6 $113,344 to $121,488 p.a. (comprising Salary of $95,777 to $102,659 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
