Keystone Engineering – Workshop Supervisor + Metal Fabricator

Keystone Engineering specialises in custom fabrications for several key industries including mining, construction and commercial industries. We are currently seeking a full-time Workshop Supervisor and a full time Metal Fabricator who are skilled in welding steel, stainless steel and aluminium and would be willing to commit to a long-term appointment.

Workshop Supervisor - Main Duties and Tasks

• Day to day running and supervision of workshop operations
• Supervision of workshop staff
• Quality Control
• Customer Liaison
• Read and Interpret engineering drawings and shop drawings
• Assisting with estimation, design and CAD drawing
• CNC Profile cutting operations – programming & scheduling
• Plan and organize material utilization
• Accurately calculate measurements taking into account percentages and proportions
• Mark out structural fabrications and shapes correctly to minimize wastage
• Cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches, metal cutting machines; CNC machines;
• Fabricate, assemble and fit materials using appropriate techniques, equipment and tools;
• Utilise skills in MIG, TIG and Arc welding;
• Use tools and equipment correctly following manufacturer’s specifications and safety standards;
• Support and maintain effective communication and cooperation with other operational sections within the business;
• Ensure that health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.

Selection Criteria

To be successful, you must:

• Have a relevant trade qualification in metal fabrication / boiler-making (or equivalent)
• Have a minimum of 10 years’ relevant trade experience
• Have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant supervisory experience

Remuneration

The remuneration package includes a salary of $39.00 per hour (based on a 38 hour week) plus 11.5% superannuation contribution. Hours of work can be conducted over a flexible working week.

Metal Fabricator - Main Duties and Tasks

• Interpret drawings / plans to determine job specifications and accurately estimate materials;
• Plan and organise materials / equipment according to logical sequences ensuring uninterrupted workflow;
• Accurately calculate measurements taking into account percentages and proportions;
• Mark out structural fabrications and shapes correctly so as to minimise wastage;
• Cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines;
• Fabricate, assemble and fit materials using appropriate techniques, equipment and tools;
• Utilise skills in MIG, TIG and Arc welding;
• Use tools and equipment correctly following manufacturer’s specifications and safety standards;
• Support and maintain effective communication and cooperation with other operational sections within the business;
• Ensure that health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.

Selection Criteria

To be successful, you must:

• Have a relevant trade qualification in metal fabrication / boiler-making / sheet metal
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in similar role(s)
• An Australian Driver’s Licence would be an advantage

Remuneration

The remuneration package includes a salary of $37.20 per hour (based on a 38 hour week) plus 11.5% superannuation contribution. Hours of work can be conducted over a flexible working week.
