About the role

As a Chef at The Spice Hut Baringa restaurant, you will play a vital role in creating authentic and delicious North & South Indian cuisine for our NEWLY OPENED restaurant. This is a full-time position based in our restaurant located in Baringa, Queensland. The restaurant will start operating from 5th June 2025. This location will be the 3rd restaurant under "The Spice Hut" company chain.

What you'll be doing

Preparing and cooking a variety of traditional South/North Indian dishes to our high quality standards

Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and refine existing recipes

Ensuring all food preparation and cooking processes adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations

Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

Mentoring junior kitchen staff and sharing your expertise in South/North Indian culinary techniques

Participating in inventory management and ordering of ingredients

What we're looking for

Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a South/North Indian chef in a reputable restaurant or catering establishment

Exceptional cooking skills and in-depth knowledge of traditional South/North Indian ingredients, flavours and cooking methods

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment and meet deadlines

Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high food safety and quality standards

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Adaptability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and public holidays

The Spice Hut is a family restaurant business that has been serving delicious North Indian & South Indian cuisine to the local community in Sunshine Coast. We already have 2 other restaurants in Sunshine coast region, which are running very successfully. One is in Maroochydore and other one is in Kawana. The Baringa restaurant will be a brand new store with brand new kitchen to help our chefs create the best possible experience for our guests. Our mission is to share the vibrant flavours and rich culinary traditions of South India with our customers. We are dedicated to using only the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and service.
