Salary starting from $88,809
About the role
As the Senior Work Health and Safety Officer, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining WHS systems, policies, and procedures that promote a safe and healthy working environment. Reporting to the Manager Work Health and Safety, you'll provide expert guidance, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Duties
Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitate and implement safety and wellness campaigns across the city
- Maintain and improve safety processes and procedures
- Guide workers with incident reporting, investigation and corrective actions
- Obtain and maintain appropriate records in city record-keeping systems
- Induct new workers to meet their safety obligations
- Support the WHS Officer to ensure Workers Compensation and Injury Management processes are effective
- Attend workplaces to carry out WHS verification checks and reviews as required
- Assist the Responsible Person to identify and implement effective risk controls where appropriate
- Develop a programme and monitor implementation of effective wellness activities
- Provide guidance in Workers Compensation and Injury Management matters
Who we are Looking for:
To be considered for this position, you will need:
- Certificate IV WHS preferred
- Demonstrated WHS experience in a similar role
