About the team
The Infrastructure Program Management Office (IPMO) is a newly formed business unit in the Infrastructure Gold Coast department, created to ensure effective governance, assurance and performance monitoring of programs and projects within the infrastructure portfolio across their lifecycle. Our new team will specialise in cost intelligence, program and project controls, data analytics and insights, and ensure successful business and stakeholder outcomes for Infrastructure Gold Coast. This is an exciting opportunity to build and shape this brand-new business unit, work in a new team and establish a baseline for Portfolio Analytics.
About your new role
You will lead and manage a team which develops and implements advanced analytics and strategies to monitor Infrastructure Gold Coast’s portfolio performance and maximise the value of the portfolio. The role provides detailed portfolio analysis and reporting and applies financial metrics and assurance measures to enable projects to be delivered in a timely and cost-efficient way. You and your team will also contribute to ongoing improvement of project development and delivery capability. You will have the opportunity to refine and uplift business processes and recruit new team members to grow your team!
Please refer to the Position Brief for a detailed list of roles and responsibilities which include but are not limited to:
• Coordinate the development of the Infrastructure Capital Program including identifying planning and delivery efficiencies through combining/bundling projects.
• Provide ongoing portfolio and project insights to enable the assurance monitoring, reporting and reviewing function, and proactively advise business stakeholders.
• Ensure projects align with P3M, organisational strategic plans and objectives, asset management plans and meet approved budgets.
• Monitor and assess portfolio performance, undertake health checks and deep dive reviews to ensure continuous improvement, value for money, benefits realisation, adoption of learnings and application of key industry trends.
We're looking for people who have:
• Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
• A focus on building an inclusive workplace culture and developing capability within the team.
• Demonstrated clear and concise communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong project management skills and are comfortable working with cross-functional stakeholders of all levels of seniority.
• High level skills using Microsoft Project Professional or similar project management applications / systems with knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
• Experience at an advanced level in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other applications such as SAP, or equivalent.
• Statistical/quantitative analysis background.
• Risk or investment modelling experience.
