Murraylands and Riverland Local Government Association (MRLGA) is seeking a full-time Circular Economy and Waste Lead to progress the Associations pursuit for regional waste management and circular economy outcomes. You will be working with representatives across Councils in a collaborative manner to drive services and systems that support landfill diversion, recycling, fogo awareness and inspire 'circular' innovation.

We are seeking a proactive, collaborative and enthusiastic individual who can work in a hybrid environment, ie both autonomously and closely with stakeholders. The primary objective is to drive outcomes in the Regional Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy, operating under two core functions: one, influence and lead initiatives that support the objectives (such as landfill diversion, recycling, reduced contamination, regional infrastructure) and identify circular economy opportunities for development. The second function is to undertake partial Contract Administration services associated with the Waste Services contracts - as it is one ‘vehicle’ used to effect change, gain efficiency's and deliver strategic goals.

If you have a passion for the portfolio, enjoy working with a range of stakeholders, possess experience in regional working environments, and can identify creative solutions and circular opportunities, then we look forward to hearing from you! It will be desirable to have experience in either circular economy, waste management, service contracts or behaviour change. Ideally the candidate will have over 10 years of experience, but we welcome applications from all interested persons to find the right organisational match.

The position can be based in any part of the Murraylands and Riverland region and is open to further discussion.
