About Dunmore Lang College
Opened in 1972 as the first Residential College at Macquarie University, Dunmore Lang College accommodates 260 students coming predominantly from rural and regional NSW, as well as from interstate and around the world.
A strong scholarship programme supports students who would not otherwise be able to attend university to successfully complete their degrees. The College has developed a significant outreach to rural and regional, Aboriginal, and first-in-family students.
The students are supported by an integrated wellbeing team of staff and student leaders including the Principal, Dean of Students, and Resident Advisers who all reside at the College, as well as the Assistant Dean, Community Supervisor, and Senior Duty staff.

Position Summary
This position reports to the Business Manager and is a member of the finance team. The Senior Accountant supports the finance operations of our not-for-profit organisation working closely with the Business Manager to ensures the efficient financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and sound financial management of the College.
The College values continuous improvement and supports opportunities for leadership, personal learning and professional development of staff.
In this role, the key activities include:
1. Manage day-to-day financial operations ensuring timely and accurate processing in all aspects with a focus on banking and accounts receivables.
2. Preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations.
3. Support the Business Manager in the annual budget and forecasting processes.
4. Assist the Business Manager is the preparation of board reports.
5. Perform financial analysis and other ad hoc reporting as required by the Business Manager
6. Support the annual audit process and preparation of the annual statutory accounts
7. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards and internal controls.
8. Work proactively with the finance team to ensure continuous improvement across all accounting processes.
9. Maintain records in respect to the WHS compliance requirements
10. Assist in the maintenance of finance systems and banking systems.
11. Act as a backup for other functions including payroll and AP as required.
12. Work with the Business Manager to ensure effective records management and archives systems and processes, ensuring statutory requirements are met.
13. Actively participate in regular staff and team meetings.
14. Undertake other relevant emerging duties as required.

· A high level of professionalism and a clear understanding of confidentiality and discretion as well as a commitment to securely managing private and personal information.

Essential
· Tertiary qualification in Finance, Business or Commerce (CPA/CA preferred).
· Advanced skills Microsoft Office, incl. Excel, Outlook and Calendar as well as aptitude to learn new software applications.
· Police Check and Working With Children Check (or a willingness to obtain these).
Desirable
It would be great if you also bring:
· Previous experience in the educational and/ or student accommodation sectors.
· Experience with Synergetic student management software or the ability to quickly develop proficiency.
