Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Operating production machinery, including calibrating equipment
• Set up and carry out cleaning and maintenance schedules
• Inspect finished product, take samples and maintain quality control
• Prepare products for despatch
• Follow instructions on a job sheet as prepared by management.
• Set up plant and equipment, monitor it and make adjustments as necessary.
• Identify weed seeds and other contaminants and determine the best configuration to remove them.
• Start or take over plant and machinery as per shift requirements and give a comprehensive handover to the person continuing on from your shift.
• Carry out daily forklift checks.
• Visually check that all machinery is working properly. If not, stop it, tag it out and report it so repairs can be carried out as soon as possible.
• Pay attention to detail, including certification requirements, tags, bags, stencilling on bags, samples to take, clean downs and documentation of the job in the “Green Books”. You will be trained in seed sampling.
• Brand bags if required, fill bags, sew them shut (or tie if bulkas) and stack onto pallets with care, enabling them to be stored in the warehouse safely. Liaise with the Warehouse Coordinator for space allocations.
• Inspect finished product, take samples and prepare products for despatch.
• Keep work area clean, tidy and uncluttered.
• Fill in for others when necessary and be willing to do other jobs as requested by management.
• Adhere to all aspects of WHS.
