About the role

Recycling Plastics Australia is seeking a motivated and skilled Production Operator to join our team at our Kilburn facility in South Australia. As a full-time Production Operator, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of our state-of-the-art plastic recycling equipment, contributing to our mission of environmental sustainability.

What you'll be doing

• Operating and monitoring various machinery and equipment used in the plastic recycling process
• Performing quality checks and troubleshooting any issues to ensure consistent output and product quality
• Adhering to all health, safety and environmental procedures to maintain a safe and compliant workplace
• Assisting with the maintenance and cleaning of equipment to keep it in optimal working condition
• Collaborating with the production team to identify and implement process improvements
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to production activities

What we're looking for

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the recycling or waste management industry
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate and maintain various types of industrial equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues quickly
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and the ability to follow standard operating procedures
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
• Flexibility to work in a shift-based environment, including weekends and public holidays
• Hold a current high risk forklift license
