Looking for a senior credit role where your decisions drive growth, customer success, and smarter lending outcomes? This is it!

Our client is seeking a highly capable and commercially minded Senior Credit Assessor / Manager to join their fast-moving financial services business in the Sydney CBD.

If you have worked in a lending/credit assessment team, held a DLA, and understand broker-submitted home lending deals inside and out — this is your opportunity to support the assessment of deposit bond products, shape credit outcomes, contribute to policy, and make an immediate impact.

About the Company

Our client is a well-established provider of financial solutions to the property market, with more than three decades of experience helping Australians secure their dream homes.

With the backing of a global financial services group and a strong local presence, they offer both stability and the energy of a business in growth mode. Their supportive team culture, customer-first approach, and commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences and outcomes, makes this a great environment for experienced credit professionals looking to make real impact.

About the Role

This is a high-trust, senior role in the credit team, responsible for assessing, approving, and escalating deposit bond applications from brokers and customers. You will bring structure, judgement, and urgency to every deal — ensuring it meets policy or is clearly justified where it doesn’t.

You will also play a key role in mentoring junior assessors, refining internal processes, and collaborating with all parts of the business to continuously improve risk outcomes and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, decision, and document deposit bond applications within delegated authority

Analyse complex applications including self-employed income, trusts, and investment scenarios

Review credit reports, financial statements, and sale contracts with rigour

Make and document recommendations for applications outside standard policy

Prepare board-level submissions for over-exposure approvals

Identify fraud risks and apply appropriate mitigation strategies

Collaborate with brokers, customers, and internal teams to resolve queries efficiently

Support ongoing credit process improvements and contribute insights for policy development

Mentor and support junior assessors and Customer Success team on credit matters

Maintain comprehensive and accurate file notes and system documentation

Ensure service levels and turnaround times are consistently met

What You Will Bring

5+ years' experience in credit assessment, underwriting, or mortgage lending (bank or non-bank)

Delegated Lending Authority (DLA) of at least $2M preferred

Deep understanding of residential mortgage structure, risk, and broker-submitted applications

Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and sound risk judgment

Ability to assess out-of-policy scenarios and build commercial, well-documented cases

Strong verbal and written communication, with ability to negotiate and justify decisions

Self-starter who works well in a small, collaborative team

High level of accuracy, accountability, and urgency under pressure

Tech-savvy and comfortable with modern credit systems and CRMs

Benefits

Competitive salary with career progression in a growing business

High visibility role with opportunity to shape credit decisions and influence policy

Sydney CBD office close to transport and cafes

Supportive and high-performing team culture with hands-on leadership

Be part of a trusted brand with global stability and strong growth trajectory

If you are a senior credit professional who thrives on precision, pace, and impact — apply now and help deliver smarter solutions with purpose!
