The Opportunity
This is not your standard corporate accounting role. With the current incumbent working out their notice, this opening offers a rare chance to step into a critical role within a global resources powerhouse. The business is deeply complex-multi-billion dollar scale, heavily regulated, and operates across FX environments with technical financial reporting requirments. This role requires you to partner with multiple functions within the business, step into unfamilair territory and embody a growth mindset and eagerness to learn.
You'll take full ownership of FX translations across three ledgers, ensuring integrity in intercompany loan accounting, payroll allocations, and management fee re-allocations. You will support accounting of the corporate and exploration joint venture components of the business, ensuring timely and accurate recording of business transactions and reconciliations.
Beyond BAU, you'll interface daily with operations, tax, and corporate stakeholders, connecting transactional detail to group-level reporting outcomes.
This is a role for someone who can think globally, operate locally, and connect the dots between technical rigour and business priorities.
The Leadership Team
Led by a highly experienced Finance Director and reporting to a technically brilliant Senior Manager, this role acts as their 2IC. You'll be trusted with autonomy from day one but expected to earn it, demonstrating your ability to solve problems, connect with stakeholders, and bring clarity to complex accounting workflows. What You'll Do
- Take full ownership of FX translation and reporting across multiple entities and ledgers
- Manage intercompany loans, payroll allocations, and management fees across corporate and JV structures
- Prepare journals, month-end reconciliations and financial reporting packs under GAAP and IFRS
- Partner with tax and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting and cash flow insights
- Support SOX compliance, internal controls and external audit engagements
- Lead process improvements across SAP and BlackLine systems
- Work with internal and external auditors.
- Preparation of the monthly financial / management accounting, reporting and reconciliation process for relevant entities and ensure adherence to the Financial Accounting team month end deadlines.
- Liaise with international parent on group reporting deliverables and deadlines
- Investigate opportunities for continuous improvement within the Corporate Accounting team
Who You Are
- CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years in large, complex environments, Big 4 trained or listed multinational background strongly preferred
- FX Expert - you're confident with remeasurement journals, multi-currency reconciliations, and understand group consolidations and ledger structures
- Systems Fluent - SAP & BlackLine experience a bonus. You're at home in large ERP environments.
- Personable & Practical - you know how to build relationships across functions, manage up, and communicate clearly in high-pressure environments
- Accounting Standard knowledge is assumed and integral to the success of this role. Your experience in a listed environment will count for a lot!
