Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant - Immediate Start - Part Time

My client is looking to bring on a part time (30 hours per week) Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant in agenuine temp-to-perm opportunity, supporting a finance team across month end, intercompany reconcialtions, general ledger and P&L maintenance, statutory accounting like BAS, GST, payroll tax, along with helping out the transactional team, if and when required.

The main responsibilities will include (but not limited too):

• Assist with month-end close processes, including journal preparation and posting
• Perform and support a range of reconciliation's, including general ledger, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany balances
• Daily receipting across multiple entities and bank accounts daily
• Reconcialtions monthly across multiple entities and bank accounts
• Support the finance team in identifying and resolving reconciliation discrepancies
• Hands on with statutory accounting like BAS, GST, payroll tax on a monthly and quarterly basis

The ideal candidate will have:

• Prior experience in a similar bookkeeping or assistant accountant capacity supporting with month-end processes, including receipting and reconcialtions experience e.g., bank, credit card, balance sheet reconcialtions
• High level of accuracy, initiative, and accountability in day-to-day tasks
• Prior experience with Xero will be highly regarded
