About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a Senior Cost Planner to take ownership of the pre-construction function for a growing commercial and multi-residential builder based in Brisbane. This newly created role will see you working directly with company leadership, influencing early-stage project decisions and shaping construction outcomes from concept through to commencement.

As the sole cost planning lead in Brisbane, you'll play a critical role in establishing best practices, supporting strategic growth, and working collaboratively with a wider estimating team based regionally.

Key Responsibilities

Lead early-phase cost planning across multiple projects, from feasibility through to project start-up.

Prepare detailed estimates and cost submissions—often from limited or conceptual documentation.

Participate in client meetings, offering commercial insights and guidance.

Drive value engineering processes where required and advise on construction methodology.

Coordinate with a regional estimating team on joint projects or overflow support.

Assist in the smooth handover from pre-construction into delivery, maintaining budget alignment.

About You

10+ years’ experience in estimating, cost planning, or quantity surveying within commercial or multi-residential construction.

Confident in client-facing roles and comfortable working independently within a team-oriented business.

Strong understanding of ECI, negotiated pricing, and design-phase cost planning.

Familiar with industry software such as CostX and Microsoft Excel.

Professional, collaborative, and commercially astute.
