Conservationist/ Natural Area Labourer

ChoiceOne are currently seeking skilled, experienced people for the Nature Division with a local Council South of the river.
Locations vary as does skill level, experience is a must as well as drivers’ licence and vehicle.
This role is ongoing with the opportunity for a permanent position.

About the role:

• Maintenance of Bushlands, Wetland and River Foreshore Reserves
• Planting
• Rubbish pick up
• Weed control including handweeding, brushcutting, herbicide application
• Use of small machinery such as blowers, chainsaws (desired), brushcutters, augers
• Use of small tools such as saws, loppers, rubbish pickers

Criteria:

• Driver’s licence and vehicle
• White Card
• Experience in horticulture
• Pass drug and alcohol screening

Desirable

• Conservation Ecosystem Management (or similar)
• First aid
• Chainsaw
