Coordinator, Mental Health and AOD

The Opportunity

Are you inspired to become an agent of change in Mental Health and AOD services?

Working in our high-impact Mental Health and AOD team, this role actively contributes to our goal of strengthening the capacity of the primary mental health service system and improving equitable access to services.

Collaborating with your team and working closely with service providers, you’ll play an integral role in the design, procurement, evaluation and ongoing management of commissioned services.

Key Accountabilities

Utilise your stakeholder relationship management skills to support the design and delivery of delegated MHAOD commissioned activities.

Apply analytical skills to make timely and informed decisions, ensuring forward planning is aligned to strategic plans and needs assessments.

Manage and report on the performance of assigned commissioned activities in line with relevant governance, performance and reporting and enterprise risk frameworks.

Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to navigate complex systems and processes.

Draft procurement plans, executive briefings, activity work plans, and performance reports.

Apply sector knowledge to influence performance outcomes for commissioned service stakeholders.

About You

Whilst clinical experience in Mental Health and AOD is not essential, you will have experience in health or a similar field. This will be accompanied by excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Our ideal candidate is an agile thinker, team player, and problem solver who can apply a continuous improvement lens to their work.

Key Capabilities

Tertiary level qualification in health, social sciences or a related field and/or a minimum five years’ experience in a relevant field, ideally withing the Australian Health or Social Services sector.

Ability to establish and maintain contractual relationships with people at all levels and forge useful and effective partnerships with people across business areas, functions and organisations.

Ability to analyse performance, financial and other data, and apply sector knowledge to support continuous quality improvements.

Effective communicator skilled in writing reports, briefings and procurement plans to support decision making.

About Murray Primary Health Network

Albury, NSW, Australia

Murray PHN (Primary Health Network) commenced on 1 July 2015 as a part of the national network of 31 PHNs across Australia, which replaced the Medicare Local program.

Murray PHN works closely with the health system to identify areas to improve, either through the better coordination and support of health services or by commissioning new services to address needs.

The catchment of Murray PHN is significant in both size and diversity. Spanning northern Victoria, and including Albury, NSW, the Murray PHN covers an area of almost 100,000 square km and it will impact health services that are accessed by more than 563,000 people.

The Australian Government has identified national objectives and priority areas for PHNs. These frame the focus of Murray PHN and will be guided by both community and clinical input to improve health outcomes.
