The Team:

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the North West Regional Hospital is an 8-bed unit that covers adult and paediatric ICU and HDU patients. ICU is a specialized area that requires skilled staff to care for critically unwell patients requiring organ support via ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy and haemodynamic support.

The Role:

We are seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our team at the North West Regional Hospital. We are looking for a passionate nurse who delivers the greatest quality of care and will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. It is expected that within the dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to a strong professional team approach through open communication and a positive supportive environment.

In partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, the Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM):

  • Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care based on the best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework
  • Assists with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow of all three areas of the Medical Unit
  • Is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team that champions person-centred care, respect, teamwork, and empathy

You will need:

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 4 to 5 years experience working in an ICU setting, with demonstrated leadership skills that includes working in a Team Leader role for rapid response
  • Ventilator (Draeger, Hamilton) and CRRT (Prismaflex) experience
  • A Graduate Certificate / Diploma in Critical Care would be highly regarded for this role
  • Paediatric experience in an Intensive Care setting is also ideal

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working 40 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
