Join a dynamic and dedicated team at the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) on Tasmania’s stunning North West Coast. As the regional trauma centre for the area, NWRH provides comprehensive services across general medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, mental health, and intensive care. Our Emergency Department manages approximately 30,000 presentations annually, supporting a diverse population of around 116,000 people.

The Role

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) in the Emergency Department, you will:

• Work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and senior staff to ensure high standards of care delivery, aligned with best practice and national standards.
• Provide operational leadership and coordination of day-to-day clinical activities, including patient flow and resource management.
• Take a proactive role in mentoring staff, supporting clinical decision-making, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Have the opportunity to lead and shape initiatives within your portfolio, contributing to the development of emergency services that reflect innovation, compassion, and responsiveness.

This is a pivotal leadership position ideal for a motivated and experienced emergency nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

You Will Need:

• Clinical experience in emergency nursing, with demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support teams. Experience with staff and resource management, as well as a solid understanding of patient flow and discharge planning.
• Commitment to quality improvement, service innovation, and a passion for delivering high-quality care and improving patient outcomes in a regional healthcare setting.

Details of appointments:

Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 24 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date.

Fixed term, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 56 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date to 24 December 2025

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
