Our client is a well-known and highly respected community services organisation delivering a range of services across the region. Join a well-respected social housing provider offering vital support and services to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

This organisation provides long term and transitional accommodation support to clients who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The role includes dealing with tenancy applications, rental arrears and consultation, but more importantly the underlying causes to the vulnerability of the tenancy.

You will be committed to working with people who are at risk of eviction from the private rental market. The role will support renters whose rental agreement is at risk to prevent entry into the homelessness system and will also develop and maintain strong partnerships with real estate agents in the local area.

In this role, you will endeavour to link families to relevant services to address a range of issues including employment, health, financial management and social integration to achieve long term, secure, stable housing.

You will:

Play a vital role in supporting client-centred services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance

Be an expert on rental housing opportunities in the area, and have solid relationships with real estate agents

Undertake tenancy assessments and informal counselling with tenants to improve and enhance their overall personal and social development, and their health and wellbeing

Deliver therapeutic and skill development services including assessments, counselling, outreach, capacity building, information, and referral opportunities for your clients

Apply early intervention strategies to sustain tenancies that are at risk of termination

Manage and maintain relevant networks and links with the community, real estate and other service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients

This is a Social, Community, Home Care, Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) Level 4 position.
