About the position
Reporting to Supervisor Civil Maintenance, this position is responsible for leading a team of staff in unsealed road, fire track maintenance and resheeting, along with a variety of other Civil related works in the City. Developing and setting works programs, the team leader also supports field officers to deliver highly valued services to our community.
Key responsibilities are:
Work collaboratively with the team, field services team leaders and other stakeholders to improve work practices and procedures.
Embedding WHS into the daily practices of every team member.
Regular monitoring of program/project budgets with updates reported to corporate leaders.
Develop team members through coaching and mentoring to achieve team objectives and implement agreed values and behaviours.
Lead the recruitment and onboarding process in accordance with procedures, including undertaking review of resources.
Understanding personal and organisational safety, wellbeing and injury management accountabilities, through the demonstration of support for our safety, wellbeing and Injury Management practices, processes and Work Health, Safety and Return to Work Policy.
You will be rostered on a 9-day fortnight schedule, optimising your work time while offering flexibility.

About you
The successful applicant will have:
Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) / Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM) or TTM non practitioner
Class C Driver's Licence
Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
Certificate in Leadership or related technical discipline
Proven leadership experience with ability to inspire and motivate the team, providing guidance and support to achieve workplace goals
Fosters a collaborative environment, encouraging team input and collective problem-solving
Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and streamline processes for maximum efficiency
Exceptional communicator, skilled in building positive relationships internally and externally, with a strong ability to positively influence others
Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical and psychometric assessment, and police check.
