We are creating a Talent Pool to fill challenging and rewarding opportunities within our Child Protection Helpline

Location - Liverpool

Grade 8/9 - $118,296- $125,693 p.a. plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

35-hour week, flexible work practices including hybrid work arrangements and shift allocation including weekends

Your role

The Team Manager role with the Department of Community and Justice (DCJ) Child Protection Helpline (Helpline) is responsible for leading, coaching and guiding a team of professional caseworkers to ensure the delivery of quality intake and initial assessment of child protection matters. Your role is essential in providing front line management and supervision of a Helpline team.

What you'll do

As part of the DCJ Helpline team, you will manage and supervise a team of approximately eight (8) caseworkers that undertakes intake and assessment of information on significant child protection concerns. You will lead and manage through group supervision, individual casework coaching and feedback to ensure the delivery of quality intake and initial assessment of child protection matters.

You will work as part of a team of 6-8 Team Managers, which form part of a large unit at the Helpline. The Helpline plays an essential role in helping to ensure that children and young people are identified at being at risk of significant harm. You will be working in a 24/7 Contact Centre and shifts reflect operating requirements of the role.

You will lead a team of Helpline Caseworkers and create open cultures. You will seek out purposeful partnerships with internal and external practitioners and communities to improve practice and outcomes for children and families. You have skills in critical reflection and analysis that models ethical and curious casework practice. You are committed to participate in continuous learning and professional development.

What we're looking for

· Someone who is experienced in leading, coaching and guiding a team of professional caseworkers to ensure the delivery of quality intake and initial assessment of child protection matters.

· You are a resilient, self-motivated leader whose adaptability and ability to model ethical and curious casework is demonstrated.

· You would also need to demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development as an ongoing priority for you and your team.

· You will bring with you a suite of people management tools including collaborative practice, attendance and performance management, training, coaching and motivational supervision.

Your qualifications and experience

· Tertiary qualifications in a Social Work, Psychology, Social Science Welfare or related discipline and or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience

· Current driver's licence
