About the role

We are seeking a skilled Skid Steer Operator to join our construction team at Virtus Group in Geelong, Victoria. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in operating heavy machinery to support our ongoing projects. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our skid steer loaders, ensuring the timely completion of tasks and adherence to all safety protocols.

What you'll be doing

Operate skid steer loaders and other construction equipment in a safe and responsible manner

Perform routine maintenance and pre-start checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance

Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies as required

Assist with a variety of construction tasks, including site preparation, material handling, and general labouring duties

Collaborate with the wider construction team to ensure seamless project delivery

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to equipment usage and maintenance

Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the worksite

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Skid Steer Operator in the construction industry

Strong understanding of the safe operation and maintenance of skid steer loaders and related equipment

Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, site plans, and work orders

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Commitment to upholding strict safety standards and environmental best practices

Current Skid Steer Loader, Posi-Track, MR/HR truck and/or other relevant construction equipment licenses (desirable)

Construction industry experience and knowledge of relevant regulations (desirable)

Telecommunications industry experience and knowledge of relevant regulations (highly desirable)

Current police check.
