The Role
We are recruiting for a Geological Technical Officer position on permanent full-time basis working 38 hours per week. The annual salary will commensurate with your experience and superannuation of 12% will be paid above your annual salary.
Duties will include:
Conducting geotechnical investigations for testing and collecting soil and rock samples
Support engineers in field surveys, mapping, and data collection
Designing and record observations
Assisting with drilling and borehole investigations and logging
Setting up and maintaining geotechnical instrumentation Contribute to safety, environmental, and site compliance procedures
Land Feature Surveying
Performing laboratory tests on soil and rock samples to determine their properties
Assisting with data analysis and interpretation
Conduct laboratory testing, Preparing lab reports and site testing report summaries
To be successfully considered for this Role you possess:
Fully understanding of Australian Standard AS1726-2017
Basic Understanding of AS 2870-2011
Must hold Victoria white Card and first aid training
Manual Driving License not less than 5 years old
Previous experiences of using TA15 or TS16 Leica total station with the robotic controller
Basic understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and SWMS
A Diploma level Qualification in a relevant discipline
Verifiable work experience of a minimum 2 years in a highly related field
Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, data collection methods, and laboratory testing procedures
Ability to analyse data, identify patterns, and draw conclusions
Effective written and verbal communication skills to document findings and collaborate with engineers
Ability to troubleshoot issues and find solutions to technical problems
