FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER (Broome)
Centacare Kimberley, is funded by Western Australia’s Department for Communities (DOC) to deliver a therapeutic family support service to parents and carers, through the delivery of a trauma informed and culturally secure service. This is a program focused on providing holistic family centred support that incorporates individual; family; community and cultural elements. It has a purpose of supporting families to provide nurturing and child safe home environments so as to address concerns for a child's physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
We are looking for a committed person who has experience in providing case management support to families who may have high and complex needs. To be successful in this role you must have an understanding of the impacts of inter-generational trauma, high level computer skills; the capacity to build professional rapport with people from diverse cultural backgrounds; effective oral and written communication skills; the ability to work as part of a team; and the capacity to work with people with significant trauma issues; complex social needs; and challenging behaviors.

We are offering an attractive salary, along with access to salary sacrificing benefits, accommodation allowance and 11.5% Superannuation. Centacare also offers 5 weeks Annual Leave & 13 Days Personal leave. The hours of employment are 38 hours per week which can include overnight travel to Derby.

ESSENTIAL:
Experience work with families within social services sector.
Ability to work in collaborative partnerships with State Government agencies.
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal people from across the Kimberley region, especially within a remote setting.
Effective communication and people engagement skills and ability to develop professional relationships with marginalised and at-risk families.
Demonstrated capacity to provide structured case managed support, and the ability to keep relevant case notes and record service information.
Ability to positively work as a team member.
Ability to work within a Catholic ethos
Experience working within program guidelines and organizational policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to use a computer and the Microsoft group of programs.
Provide a current National Police Clearance and "Working with Children Check Clearance."
Current Western Australian "C" class motor vehicle driver license.
DESIRABLE:
A qualification in a relevant social or human services field of study.
