ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager Family Support Network is responsible for leading the delivery and strategic oversight of Wungening Family Support Network and Danjoo Moort - Aboriginal Family Led Decision Making (AFLDM) services. The role works closely with the FSN Network and Wungening leaders to maintain operational excellence, Safeguarding controls, and drive continuous improvement across the service.
About FSN:
Wungening leads the Armadale Cannington Family Support Network. Family Support Networks (FSNs) are a partnership of community sector services and the Department of Communities (Communities), providing a common entry point to services and delivering targeted support to families facing challenging situations and those most likely to be involved with the child protection system.
About Danjoo Moort:
The Danjoo Moort Program is an AFLDM process that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to participate in decisions made in relation the care and protection of their children. The Danjoo Moort Program aims to address over-representation of Aboriginal children in the Out of Home Care and child protection systems.
Responsibilities Overview:
Manage the operations of the Family Support Network and Danjoo Moort.
Recruit, manage, and support FSN and Danjoo Moort coordinators ensuring effective staffing aligned to the needs of the network and the families, children and young people we work with.
Oversee line management and supervision processes across the program.
Ensure delivery of the Assessment and Coordination and Intensive Case Management streams in line with the WAFSN Operating Framework.
Manage the establishment, coordination and ongoing engagement of the FSN Network.
Implement effective case management processes, including assessment, care planning, outreach and home visitation.
Drive practice development initiatives to enhance team capability in responding to behavioural, emotional, cultural and developmental needs using therapeutic and culturally secure methods.
Ensure all practices align with Wungening’s values, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Participate in the organisations ‘On-call’ processes as part of a rotating roster.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Commitment to empowering Aboriginal families, children and young people and their right to participate in discussions and decisions relating to the supports they receive.
Significant experience in Early Intervention and Family Services or relevant child protection work with Aboriginal families, children, and young people.
Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams, service operations, and staff performance.
Experience working with trauma-informed, restorative, or therapeutic care models.
Proven ability to manage compliance, policy implementation, risk, and quality assurance in a complex service environment.
Strong skills in incident management, crisis response, reporting, and safeguarding.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate across diverse stakeholders.
Leadership capacity to influence, advocate, and build positive organisational culture.
High-level problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities.
Sound computer skills, experience working with MS Office programs and data management systems
Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field (or significant equivalent experience).
