The office of Senator the Hon Sarah Henderson is seeking applications for a casual Electorate Officer (EOA) position, based in the Geelong electorate office.
Position Overview
Senator Henderson is seeking a highly motivated individual who can produce excellent and engaging digital communications, including short-form video, graphic design and social media content.
This position could suit a tertiary student or recent graduate seeking part-time or flexible work.
The key duties of the position include but are not limited to:
create digital content including short-form video, graphic design and social media content;
develop, schedule, and publish engaging content across social media platforms;
assist with other general digital communication activities as required;
support broader communications and campaign strategy as required; and
undertake other general administrative tasks within the electorate office, as required.
The ideal candidate should be resourceful, self-motivated and possess relevant skills and experience including:
relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience, such as in graphic design
prior experience working in an electorate office environment is preferred but not essential
previous digital communications/campaigning experience
proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and InDesign;
photography and basic video editing skills with Adobe Premiere Pro desirable;
organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines;
an ability to work effectively as part of a team; and
knowledge of the Australian political landscape is desirable but not essential.
Employment conditions:
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 which include:
An hourly rate between $36.22 and $38.34 per hour plus an additional 25% loading will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.

The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check.
Staff may be subject to automatic cessation triggers in accordance with Section 14 of the MOP(S) Act.
The successful applicant will be required to comply with their obligations under the Behaviour Codes and Standards.
