Monarch Building Systems is a modular building manufacturer based in the Narangba Innovation Precinct (Queensland) and part of a well-established group of private companies with deep experience in prefabricated building products and buildings.

THE ROLE

This critical role will support the Engineering Manager in preparing the factory for full-scale production and will take operational ownership during the establishment phase and beyond. You will:

Lead and be hands-on in the setup and commissioning of our new factory layout and equipment.

Supervise the construction of modular building units on the production floor.

Coordinate labour resources to meet production schedules.

Ensure quality standards and compliance are met throughout the build process.

Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to optimise efficiency and reduce waste.

Lead a team of initially unskilled workers and manage contractors during setup and production.

Support and help shape a positive, safety-first team culture.

Work closely with the Engineering team to align operations with design and workflow.

SUCCESS FACTORS

Proven experience as a manufacturing supervisor or similar leadership role in a production or modular construction environment.

Direct experience in factory setup, layout, commissioning, or re-establishment projects.

Comfortable leading hands-on work and directing initially unskilled labour and contractors.

Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and ability to apply them effectively.

Strong coordination and labour management skills

High attention to quality, safety and efficiency in build environments

Strong communication, planning, organisational and coordination skills with a team-oriented mindset

Modular construction/manufacturing experience highly desirable; relevant general manufacturing experience will be considered.
