A position exists for a Welder/Fabricator who is experienced in MIG welding light gauge material, 1.6mm-3mm in thickness, in Mild Steel. We are looking for a competent trades person who can work unsupervised as part of our team in the fabrication of our High Quality Fuel Tanks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Weld components / tanks to satisfy production requirements

Interpret drawings to accurately determine requirements of the job

MIG weld light gauge (1.6mm – 3.0mm) mild steel components to requirements of the drawing

De-bur and finish steel as necessary to achieve proper surface

Cut and form mild steel sheets when required

Grind and drill components when required

Check work for accuracy before release

Maintain / Increase efficiency of the workshop

Meet budgeted hours for all jobs

Meet completion deadlines for all jobs

Suggest possible efficiency improvements to work methods

Fill out time sheets accurately

Ensure equipment is in good, safe working order, and report where it is not

Perform a reasonable amount of overtime when required

Ensure that the workplace is clean and tidy at all times

Communicate progress of each job to workshop supervisor (in relation to required timelines)

Reduce /maintain lost time injuries to zero

Ensure adherence to company OH&S procedures and guidelines

Wear the appropriate safety clothing / protective items for the job

Demonstrate safe practices in the workplace at all times

Behave in a safe manner within the workplace

General Duties

Partake in training when required

Perform other duties as directed by immediate supervisor

Ensure that the presentation of employee meets the required level (clean, tidy uniforms etc.)

Other Information

Full time, Monday to Friday and NO weekend work. Immediate start available.
