Devcert is looking for a proactive and detail-driven professional in the construction industry to support our building certification process and play a pivotal role in ensuring applications flow seamlessly from submission to approval.
In this essential position, you’ll become an expert in Devcert’s building application workflows and software, working at the intersection of technical documentation, client engagement, and regulatory compliance. You’ll guide clients through the application journey, coordinate with referral agencies such as QFES and local councils, and ensure that every application meets the highest standards of quality and completeness.
You’ll be the vital link between applicants, certifiers, and regulatory bodies—keeping timelines on track, managing inspections and diaries, and transforming complex construction and compliance requirements into clear, actionable steps. To support the building certification process through the preparation and management of Building Applications, consultation with clients, coordination of referral documentation, and maintenance of quality and compliance standards throughout the application lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a complete understanding of Devcert’s building applications processes, and the application of Devcert’s in-house application software.
Manage development applications using Devcert's in-house application software.
Review documentation provided by applicants and third parties to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation.
Coordinate Devcert application information requests and attend to client inquiries about information requests.
Coordinate and lodge referral agency applications to referral agencies e.g., QFES.
Respond to and track information requests from referral agencies, councils, and other regulatory bodies.
Receive and understand enquiries and with training identify what information the building certifier needs in order to provide a response. Gather and present relevant information to the certifier to support efficient decision-making. Translate the certifier's decisions into clear and accurate responses,
Manage building certifiers diary and inspection scheduling
Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism in all communications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to read complex construction documentation.
Experience in the building certification industry or related field preferred.
Strong administrative and document handling skills.
Effective communication skills for working with clients and regulatory agencies.
Familiarity with application lodgement systems and digital documentation workflows.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and respond to dynamic project demands.
Knowledge of Queensland building application and referral processes desirable.
